As of today, April 3, official wire rod prices in Turkey have risen by $5/mt depending on the region compared to March 31, against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and expectations regarding a possible increase in energy prices in Turkey. However, no official increase has been announced by the time of publication. According to sources, one Iskenderun-based mill is rumored to be testing a wire rod price of $610/mt ex-works, up by $5/mt over the same period, depending on the tonnage and payment terms.
According to sources, workable wire rod prices in Turkey have settled at $610-625/mt ex-works, also up by $5/mt over the same period.
Most buyers are only purchasing in line with their daily needs, while the general sentiment on the demand side among end-users (welded mesh buyers) is still negative.
