Malaysia's Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) has announced its final decision regarding the antidumping (AD) duty investigation on steel wire rod imports from Taiwan, China, Indonesia, South Korea and Turkey.

Malaysia will impose an antidumping duty ranging between 3.03 percent and 25.2 percent for wire rod imports from China, Taiwan, Indonesia and South Korea, for the five years starting from February 20.

The ministry found that P.T. Ispat Indo (Indonesia), Jiangsu Shagang Group Co. Ltd. and Jiangsu Yonggang Group Co. Ltd. (China), and Diler Dis Ticaret A.S. (Turkey) have not caused material injury to the Malaysian market, determining that the export prices from the said companies are higher than normal value.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, the investigation was launched in June last year, following a petition lodged by domestic wire rod producer Amsteel Mills Sdn. Bhd.

The goods subject to investigation are currently classified under Harmonized System Code Numbers 7213.10.000, 7213.20.000,7213.91.000 and 7213.99.000.
