LME increases number of approved brands for billet futures

London Metal Exchange (LME) has announced the approval of the products of Russian steelmaker Open Joint Stock Company Amurmetal (OJC Amurmetal) and Malaysian steelmaker Ann Joo Steel Berhad (AJSB) for its steel billet futures contracts which are due for launch on April 28, 2008.

As a result of these further additions, the number of brands approved by LME has now increased to eleven, following the previous approval of Greek producer Hellenic Halyvourgia S.A's two brands; Belarusian steelmaker Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ); Turkish steel producers Colakoglu Metalurji A.S., Diler Demir Celik Endustrisi ve Ticaret A.S. and Yazici Demir Celik Sanayi ve Turizm Ticaret A.S; Russia's Frolovsky Electrostalplavilny Zavod (Volga-Fest) and Zlatoust Metallurgical Works (ZMZ); and Ukraine's Mini Steel Mill ISTIL.
