Canadian-based Largo Resources said it plans to qualify to produce and then sell vanadium pentoxide powder, or V2O5 powder, through Glencore International AG, the existing exclusive off taker of all vanadium products currently produced from the company’s Maracás Menchen mine in Brazil. Largo said it will start production of V205 powder to “supplement” its existing vanadium pentoxide fused flake production during Q1 2018. In addition to vanadium, Largo also produces ferro-vanadium and other products. It said V205 production at the Maracas Brazil site reached 706 mt in January and 645 mt in February.
