Japanese steelmaker Kobe Steel has announced that Kobelco Angang Auto Steel, its Anshan, Liaoning-based joint venture with Chinese steel producer Angang Steel, has started production.
Kobelco Angang Auto Steel has a continuous annealing line, with an annual production capacity of 600,000 mt of advanced cold rolled high-strength steel sheet for automobiles. Total investment in the plant amounted to RMB 1.75 billion ($269.5 million).
