According to a report today from Reuters, Kobe Steel Ltd said cases of data falsification have been discovered within the company’s iron powder products and at its research unit.

In a statement, the company said it found a single case of data tampering concerning iron powder products, in addition to 70 cases of data tampering at its research unit Kobelco Research Institute Inc.

SteelOrbis reported Tuesday that the Tokyo-based company, one of the biggest steelmakers in Japan, found several cases of data falsification within its Aluminum & Copper Business. A portion of the division’s products did not comply with the product specifications which were agreed between the company and its customers.
