Iranian steelmaker Khouzestan Steel produced 300,000 mt of sponge iron in the most recent month of the Iranian year (November 22-December 21), exceeding its nominal capacity, according to a statement by Abdolmajid Sharif, managing director of Khouzestan Steel.
Khouzestan Steel already has a nominal crude steel production capacity of 3.2 million mt per year after completing its expansion projects. By the end of the current Iranian year, Khouzestan Steel expects to achieve an output of 2.8 million metric tons of crude steel and will achieve its nominal capacity next year.
