JSW Steel’s crude steel output up 15% in August

One of the largest Indian steelmakers JSW Steel Ltd has posted a 15 percent year-on-year growth in crude steel production for August.

JSW produced 763,000 mt of crude steel in the given month, increasing by 12.8 percent compared to July. During August, JSW Steel produced 514,000 mt of flat rolled products, up six percent, while its long rolled product output amounted to 148,000 mt, increasing by 19 percent, both compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the first five months of the financial year 2012-13, JSW produced 3.85 million mt of crude steel, increasing by 22 percent year on year.
