In December last year, the number of jobs in the manufacturing sector in Germany increased by one percent or about 55,000 people year on year to nearly 5.4 million, according to Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
In December last year, the number of jobs in German metal and metal product manufacturing increased by 1.9 percent year on year.
In December, an increase of 0.5 percent was recorded in the number of jobs in manufacture of fabricated metal products in Germany compared to December 2014.
