Germany’s industrial output down 0.3 percent in August from July

In August this year, seasonally-adjusted industrial production decreased by 0.3 percent in Germany compared to the previous month, while the corrected figure for July showed a decrease of 1.3 percent compared to June, according to the provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).

As compared to July, in August this year production excluding energy and construction narrowed by 0.1 percent and the production of capital goods fell by 0.7 percent, while the output of consumer goods increased by 1.4 percent. Meanwhile, the production of intermediate goods was up by 0.1 percent and energy production rose by 1.3 percent, while the construction output decreased by 1.8 percent, all month on month.
