JISF comments on EU’s AD duty on silicon steel imports

The Japanese Ministry of Finance (JISF) has issued a statement commenting on the antidumping (AD) measures imposed by the European Commission on grain-oriented flat rolled electrical steel imports from Japan

“It is inappropriate and regrettable that the commission has concluded that the domestic industry in EU has been injured by imports of grain-oriented flat-rolled products of silicon-electrical steel from Japan, and decided to enact the antidumping measures.” said the ministry.

During the antidumping investigation by the commission, the Japanese steel industry stated that exports of grain-oriented flat-rolled products of silicon-electrical steel from Japan had caused no injury to the domestic industry in the EU.

The Japanese steel industry will carefully study this decision and determine a proper course of action.
