China's Shandong Province-based Jinan Iron and Steel Corporation has announced that it has successfully developed JAR500F abrasion-resistant steel with Brinell Hardness of 360-500 HB and in a thickness range of 10-50 mm.

In addition, Jinan Steel lately concluded a deal with a Peruvian importer for the supply 204 mt of JAR500F abrasion-resistant steels. In tests, the products met all the customer's quality requirements.

Jinan Steel targets a quarterly export volume of more than 1,000 mt of the product in question in the future. Apart from Peru, Australia, Brazil and South Africa all indicate significant demand for abrasion-resistant steels. In China's domestic market, the mining and mechanical engineering industries are the main consumers of abrasion resistant steels.
