Jiangsu Changgang constructs a new sheet mill

Jiangsu Changgang Metal Coating is going to start construction of a sheet mill in Jiangsu eastern China in December with an annual capacity of 450'000 tons. After the construction of the new sheet mill is completed, the annual capacity of the will include 200'000 tons of cold rolled sheet, 150'000 tons of galvanized sheet and 100'000 tons of coated sheet. Jiangsu Changgang's which started operations on 18 May, invested Yuan 230 million(approx. $27.5 million) in this sheet mill. Once the company's second mill's construction details become definite, a total investment of Yuan 200 million is planned to be effected. The construction of the second mill is scheduled to initiate in 2005.
