Japanese steelmaker JFE Steel Corporation and Malaysian cold rolled steel sheet manufacturer Mycron Steel Berhad have signed an agreement for strategic collaboration, while JFE Steel has also acquired three percent of Mycron Steel's outstanding equity.
A recent press release by JFE Steel said that the company will supply Mycron Steel with high quality hot rolled coil and related technical assistance for the production of high quality cold rolled sheet for the automobile and electric appliance markets.
The two companies have enjoyed commercial relations over the years, during which time JFE Steel has provided Mycron Steel with technical assistance for the manufacturing of automotive-grade steel products and also hot rolled coil for the production of cold rolled sheet.
