Japan's new ship export orders rise in November from October

According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters' Association (JSEA), Japanese new ship export orders in November this year increased by 11.2 percent on tonnage basis compared to October , decreasing to 17 ships, compared to 22 ships recorded in October, totaling 990,399 gross tons, including 11 bulk carriers, four tankers and two general cargo ships. In November last year, Japan's new ship export orders had totaled five ships amounting to 336,300 gross tons.

In the first 11 months of this year, Japanese shipbuilders received new export orders for a total of 181 ships with an aggregate of 8.94 million gross tons, up 176.7 percent year on year. 

On the other hand, in November this year Japan delivered 11 ships for export, totaling 642,060 gross tons, falling from 14 ships totaling 791,420 gross tons recorded in October. In November 2016, Japan's new ship deliveries for export had totaled 18 ships with 1.03 million gross tons.

Meanwhile, in the January-November period of the current year, Japan delivered 240 ships for export, totaling 10.76 million gross tons, falling by 6.9 percent year on year.
