According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's cold rolled steel exports totaled 309,970 metric tons in March this year, rising by 13.4 percent month on month and down 13.3 percent compared to March 2011.
In the first quarter of the current year Japan's cold rolled steel exports decreased by 23 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, amounting to 808,222 mt.
In the first quarter, China was the largest cold rolled steel export destination of Japan, totaling 266,208 metric tons, down 19.5 percent compared to January-March 2011, while exports to Indonesia amounted to 103,308 metric tons, falling 12.1 percent compared to the same quarter of 2011.
