Italy’s flat steel output doubles in March on year-on-year basis

According to the figures released by the Italian steel producers' association Federacciai, in April this year Italian crude steel output totaled 2.35 million metric tons, increasing by 57.9 percent year on year and decreasing by one percent compared to March.

Meanwhile, in the first four months of 2010 the country's crude steel production stood at 8.8 million metric tons, rising by 36.8 percent compared to the same period of last year.
 
Federacciai has also released Italy's long and flat steel output data for March this year.
 
Accordingly, in the third month of this year Italy's long steel output rose by 21.1 percent year on year and by 8.5 percent month on month, reaching 1.14 million metric tons.

On the other hand, in March the country's flat steel output reached 1.15 million metric tons, up 100 percent year on year and 9.9 percent month on month.
