Italy’s crude steel output rises 12 percent in October

According to the figures released by the Italian steel producers' association Federacciai, in October this year Italian crude steel output rose by 11.9 percent year on year, reaching 2.48 million metric tons. Italian mills produced 21.52 million metric tons of crude steel in the first ten months of 2010, up 31 percent compared to the same period of 2009.

Federacciai also released Italy's long and flat steel output data for September this year. Accordingly, in September Italy's long steel output was up 5.7 percent year on year to 1.21 million metric tons. On the other hand, in September the country's flat steel output amounted to 1.07 million metric tons, increasing by 12.6 percent year on year.
