Italian crude steel output down 17.2 percent in November

In November, Italian crude steel output witnessed a month-on-month decrease following two months of increase, while the country's longs and flats outputs increased in October over the previous month.
 
According to the statistics released by Italian steel producers' association Federacciai, in November this year Italy's crude steel output amounted to 1.92 million metric tons, decreasing by 17.2 percent year on year, and down 11.38 percent over the previous month.

Meanwhile, in the January-November period of this year Italy's crude steel output totaled 18.16 million metric tons, decreasing by 37.3 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

Federacciai also released Italy's long and flat steel output figures for October this year.

Accordingly, the country's long product output in the month in question totaled 1.17 million metric tons, declining by 11.9 percent year on year, but up 6.37 percent over September.

Meanwhile, in October Italian flat steel production decreased by 22.8 percent compared to October 2008, reaching 960,000 metric tons, and registering a slight month-on-month increase of 0.73 percent.
