ISG to expand its operations at Cleveland works

According to the statement released by International Steel Group (ISG), the company is planning to expand its operations at Cleveland works through adding an automotive-quality hot dip galvanizing line by converting the idled continuous annealing line. The new line, which is scheduled to be operational by late 2005, will have an annual production capacity of about 500'000 tons. Converting the existing annealing line to hot dip galvanizing line will be less expensive than establishing a new line. The new line will complement ISG's automotive coated-product business and will enable the company to be more competitive in automotive market. The project is expected to cost around $40 million.
