Iscor to become Mittal Steel SA

Having won approval from its shareholders, South African steel producer Iscor is set to change its name to Mittal Steel South Africa. Sources report that Iscor, in which Mittal Steel acquired a majority stake in 2004, will operate as Mittal Steel SA as of March 11, 2005. Mittal Steel will become the world's largest steel producer following the completion of the International Steel Group (ISG) takeover later this month. The steel giant will then have a total annual capacity of 64 million tons.
