Iron ore exports via Port Hedland down 8.1% in November from October

In November this year, iron ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland amounted to 34.43 million metric tons, decreasing by 8.1 percent compared to October and up 22.7 percent year on year.

According to the information released by Port Hedland Port Authority, in November iron ore shipments made from Port Hedland to China amounted to 29.03 million metric tons, decreasing by 8.5 percent compared to October and up 30.1 percent compared to the same month of 2013. Japan and South Korea followed China in November this year, receiving 2.45 million mt and 2.06 million mt respectively.
 
Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Atlas Iron and Fortescue Metals Group in the iron ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
