Industrial output in Brazil up slightly in July over June

Brazil's national statistics agency, the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatistica (IBGE), has reported that Brazilian industrial production rose 0.3 percent in July this year as compared to June, recording the second consecutive month-on-month increase. However, industrial production was down 2.9 percent in July this year compared to July 2011, the eleventh consecutive negative rate in year-on-year comparison.

The IBGE mentioned that July 2012 (22 days) had one more business day than the same month of the previous year (21).
