Indonesia’s steel import value down 4.6 percent in Jan from Feb

According to the data announced by Statistics Indonesia (BPS), in February this year Indonesia's steel imports totaled $843 million in value, decreasing by 4.6 percent as compared to the previous month, while the country's import value for articles of iron and steel increased 53.8 percent compared to January this year, to $533 million.

In the first two months of this year, Indonesia's steel import value came to $1.7 billion, rising by 6.1 percent year on year, while the country's imports of iron and steel imports came to $879 million in value, up 30.9 percent on year-on-year basis.
