Indonesian plate imports traced by EU producers

Producers in the EU are talking about a possibility of filing an anti-dumping case on heavy plate against Indonesia, in case the imports from this country start to increase above the tonnages imported during last quarter of 2002. In the first half of year 2002, imports into the EU amounted to a 25'000 tons per month. However, this tonnage considerably fell to levels of 5'000 tons per month, during the last quarter of the year. Therefore, as long as the plate imports remain at the fourth quarter 2002 level, the EU producers may not be filing a complaint against imports of this material from Indonesia.
