Indian government owned and operated Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) is seeking a global supplier for 260 sets of refractories for its steel smelting shop at its plant located in the southern Indian port town of Vishakhapatnam, sources said on Wednesday, December 20.

The sources said that global suppliers will need to submit their bid by January 5, 2018 and the final selection of the supplier will be determined through electronic reverse auction.

Domestic refractory producers will be eligible as well to put in bids, but the primary reason for RINL floating a global tender is the high priority being given to timely supply and installation by the selected contractor.

RINL operates a 6.3 million mt per year steel mill in Vishakhapatnam.
