Indian government owned and operated Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) is seeking a global supplier of ferrosilicon for monthly shipments for a period of one year, a company source said on Wednesday, October 25.

The source said that procurement of ferrosilicon will be through a tendering and global suppliers will have until September 30, 2018 to put in their bids.

RINL has stipulated that a global supplier will have to ship in a minimum volume of 1,200 mt for every three-month cycle or a minimum volume of 400 mt per month, the source said.

The steel company will have the option of selecting more than one supplier and split the total off-take among suppliers as per terms of their bids, if necessary, the source said.

RINL operates a 6.4 million mt per year capacity steel mill located in the southern Indian port town of Vishakhapatnam.
