India’s AMNS to start greenfield steel mill project construction in Dec-Jan

India’s ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel Limited (AMNS) will commence construction of its planned 7 million mt per year capacity steel mill in Paradip, Odisha, in the December-January period, a state government official said on Wednesday, August 23.

He said that the project has been accorded all approvals by the state authorities.

He also said that the commencement of the project would be marked by a groundbreaking ceremony, signaling the start of the first of the projects announced by the company.

ArcelorMittal in collaboration with Nippon Steel Limited has also drawn up plans for a second greenfield steel mill project with a 12 million mt per year capacity to be located in the Kendrapara district in Odisha, close to the port town of Paradip.
