Indian government may relieve import duty for car makers

The Indian Government is planning to lift the import duties on steel for the domestic passenger car industry, with the impact of the constantly rising steel prices in the country. According to the new plan, car producers will be allowed to import steel from international steel producers. This will give the Indian car makers the opportunity to obtain their steel at comparatively cheaper prices. In line with such cost reduction in car manufacturing industry, the car prices in India will be kept from the sharp hikes.
