Ilyich temporarily stops plate mill 3000

Ukrainian steel producer Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) has temporarily stopped its plate mill 3000, as it has completed all the orders for the current month and no more orders have been received.

Ilyich stopped the operation of its plate mill 3000 on March 18 and plans to recommence production again in April.

In 2008, Ilyich's exports amounted to 3.661 million mt of steel products - down 16.58 percent year on year, of which 46.22 percent were shipped to Middle East countries. Of the mill's total exports, 45.2 percent were hot rolled coils, 34.7 percent - cold rolled coils, 11.4 percent - slabs, 1.2 percent - pig iron, and 2.1 percent - other steel products.
