Ilyich sees reduced steel production in January-August

Ukrainian steelmaker Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich), a subsidiary of Ukraine's largest vertically-integrated mining and steel group Metinvest, has announced that in the January-August period of the current year its output of rolled steel products decreased by 13.8 percent year on year to 2.465 million mt.

Ilyich's crude steel production in the given period fell 19.4 percent to 2.767 million mt, while its pig iron production declined by 0.2 percent to 3.239 million mt, both year on year.

In August alone, the company produced 202,000 mt of rolled steel products, 205,000 mt of crude steel and 204,000 mt of pig iron.
