Hunan eliminates 3.45 million mt of low-grade construction steel capacity in 2017

The government of China’s Hunan Province has announced that it eliminated 3.45 million mt of low-grade construction steel capacity in 2017.

Meanwhile, Hunan Province’s outputs of finished steel and crude steel amounted to 22.1015 million mt and 20.4141 million mt in 2017, reaching record levels, up 13.8 percent and 11.6 percent year on year, respectively while the province's output of pig iron in the given year came to 17.8993 million mt, down 0.1 percent year on year.
