Hengyang Valin Steel Tube Co. Ltd (Hengsteel), a subsidiary of Chinese steelmaker Hunan Valin Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd., has successfully trial produced super 13Cr steel pipes, a product with higher added-value and a greater profit margin compared with the 13Cr steel the producer developed in 2009. Before Hengsteel's successful trial production, in China only Shanghai-based Baosteel and Tianjin Steel had produced super 13Cr steel pipes.

Hengsteel's development of super 13Cr steel pipes is expected to enable it to produce more advanced steel products in the future.
