Henan Province to eliminate 1.3 million mt of dated steel capacity in 2012

The targets for the elimination of backward or outdated production capacities in the metallurgical industry in China's Henan Province in 2012 include 1.6 million mt of annual iron production capacity, 1.3 million mt of annual steelmaking capacity, 1.6 million mt of annual coke output capacity and 33,000 mt of annual ferroalloy production capacity, as announced by the government of Henan Province.

The 1.6 million mt of backward iron production capacity to be eliminated includes one 125 m3 blast furnace at Linzhou Hexin Casting Co., and five 350 m3 blast furnaces at Anyang Iron and Steel Co.. In addition, the 1.3 million mt backward steelmaking capacity to be eliminated includes two 30 mt HX2-30 electric arc furnaces at Luoyang Xingrong Industrial Co., two 30 mt electric arc furnaces at Henan Xinyongxin Heavy Machinery Co., and two converters at Anyang Yongxing Iron and Steel Co.
