Hebei Province eliminates 29 converters and 33 blast furnaces in 2017

China's Hebei Province has eliminated 21.78 million mt of steelmaking capacity and 18.07 iron-smelting capacity so far in 2017, exceeding its original targets of eliminating 15.62 million mt of steelmaking capacity and 16.24 iron-smelting capacity in the current year, as announced by Hebei Development and Reform Commission. In total, 29 converters and 33 blast furnaces were eliminated.
