Hanbo Busan sold to Japan's Yamato Kogyo

Korean mill Hanbo Busan Steel has been released from receivership and is sold to the Japanese railway truck maker Yamato Kogyo with operations in Thailand and the US, against $ 118 million, according to latest reports. The electric arc furnace bar mill is renamed Yamato Korea Steel Mill. The future plans include capacity expansion and installation of a ladle furnace. The recently taken over by AK Capital Hanbo Iron and Steel and Hanbo Busan once had been under the same management but were separated under Korea's debt restructuring program.
