Germany's steel output keeps on increasing
Data from Germany's Federal Statistical Office show that the country's crude steel output rose 3.9 percent year on year to 4.06 million metric tons in April. Pig iron output increased 3 percent year on year to 2.6 million metric tons. Compared to previous week, April crude steel production fell 1.4 percent and pig iron production decreased 1.6 percent. Crude steel output totaled 15.31 million metric tons through the first four months of the year, down 1.6 percent year on year. In addition, pig iron output amounted to 9.87 million metric tons, down 2.6 percent.
