Germany’s crude steel output up 4.7 percent in July

In July this year, Germany's crude steel output increased by 4.7 percent to 3.61 million metric tons compared to the same month of 2014, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). Meanwhile, in the January-July period, the country's crude steel output decreased by 0.7 percent year on year to 25.77 million metric tons.
 
On the other hand, in June this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.35 million metric tons, indicating an increase of 10.5 percent, including 2.18 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 12.6 percent, and 1.17 million metric tons of long steel products - rising by 6.7 percent, all on year-on-year basis.
 
Meanwhile, in the first half of this year, the country's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 19.32 million metric tons, indicating an increase of 3.2 percent, including 12.54 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 2.2 percent, and 6.78 million metric tons of long steel products - increasing by 5.3 percent, all compared to the same period of 2014.
