German crude steel output down two percent in 2018

In December last year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 2.4 percent year on year to 3.22 million metric tons, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In 2018, crude steel production in Germany declined by two percent year on year to 42.43 million mt.

Germany’s pig iron output in December amounted to 2.24 million mt, down 5.6 percent, while in the full year the country’s pig iron output decreased by two percent to 27.27 million mt, both year on year.
