German crude steel output down 5.1 percent in January-June

In June this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 5.8 percent year on year to 3.405 million metric tons, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the January-June period, crude steel production in Germany declined by 5.1 percent year on year to 20.717 million mt.

Germany's pig iron output in June amounted to 2.211 million mt, down 1.3 percent, while in the first half the country's pig iron output decreased by 4.1 percent to 13.334 million mt, both year on year.

The country's hot rolled steel output fell 8.1 percent to 2.989 million mt in June, while it decreased by 5.6 percent to 17.912 million mt in the first six months, both compared to the respective periods of the previous year
