Germany's crude steel output increases further in July

In July this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 3.1 percent month on month to 3.45 million metric tons, rising by 1.5 percent compared to July 2013, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). Meanwhile, in the first seven months of the current year, the country's crude steel output increased by 3.9 percent year on year to 25.93 million metric tons.

On the other hand, in June this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.03 million metric tons, indicating an increase of 1.3 percent, including 1.93 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 1.6 percent, and 1.1 million metric tons of long steel products - up 0.8 percent, all on year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, in the first half of this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel production amounted to 18.71 million metric tons, increasing by 0.4 percent, including 12.27 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 1.2 percent, and 6.44 million metric tons of long steel products - down one percent, all on-year-on year basis.
