In March this year, Germany's crude steel output increased by 10.3 percent month on month to nearly 3.87 million metric tons, while falling 4.4 percent compared to the same month of 2014, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). Meanwhile, in the first quarter of this year, the country's crude steel output decreased by two percent year on year to 11.06 million metric tons.
On the other hand, in February this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.05 million metric tons, indicating an increase of 0.6 percent, including 1.93 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 4.1 percent, and 1.16 million metric tons of long steel products - up 10.1 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
Meanwhile, in the January-February period of this year, the country's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 6.2 million metric tons, indicating an increase of 2.4 percent, including 4.01 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 0.3 percent and 2.18 million metric tons of long steel products - up 7.6 percent, all compared to the same period of 2014.
