German iron ore import prices down 2.5% in 2013

According to a report released by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in December last year the import price of iron ore increased by 10.6 percent year on year in Germany. Meanwhile, in 2013 the import price of iron ore decreased by 2.5 percent compared to 2012.

In December, the average import price of iron and steel and ferroalloys in Germany decreased by 5.4 percent year on year. In 2013, the average import price of iron and steel and ferroalloys decreased by 6.9 percent compared to 2012.

In December last year, the import price of nickel fell by 21.2 percent year on year and was down by 1.1 percent month on month, while the import price decreased by 15.7 percent in 2013 compared to 2012.
