Gerdau SA plans an investment program

Brazilian longs producer Gerdau SA announced a $212.5 million investment program for the next four years, for the expansion of the Gerdau Acos Finos Piratini and Gerdau Riograndense mills. $118.2 million will be invested at Gerdau Acos Finos Piratini in order to increase its annual production capacity to 500'000 tons from 300'000 tons. Futhermore, the company will spend $94.3 million to improve the production lines at Gerdau Riograndense plant which produces higher value products for agricultural sector.
