Brazilian integrated steelmaker Gerdau named on Tuesday a new CEO for its North America operations.

The company said Chia Yuan Wang, who has served as the company’s North America vice-president (VP) of supplies, will assume the CEO role. Wang will replace Gustavo Werneck, the steelmaker’s current CEO of North American operations. Wang has over 30 years of experience working at the Brazilian steelmaker in Brazil, Canada, China and the US.

“Wang has a relevant strategic vision,” said Gerdau CEO Gustavo Werneck.

Gerdau’s US business accounts for about 40 percent Gerdau’s total revenues. The company's net revenues in Q4 rose nearly 14 percent, year-on- year, to BRL 9.8 billion ($2.8 billion) thanks to increased net revenues per mt at all its business units, especially in Brazil.
