According to the latest data regarding crude steel production in France released by the French Steel Federation (FFA) in November this year French crude steel production amounted to 1,344,750 metric tons, increasing by 4.2 percent year on year and down 4.8 percent as compared to October this year.
In November, steel production in France using electric arc furnaces (EAF) rose 7.6 percent year on year, amounting to 579,900 mt, while steel production with blast furnace (BF) technology totaled 764,850 mt, increasing by 1.8 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first 11 months of the current year, France's crude steel production amounted to 14,670,150 mt, increasing by 2.7 percent compared to the same period last year. In this period, steel production in France using electric arc furnaces (EAF) rose 10.6 percent year on year, reaching 5,757,700 mt, while steel production with blast furnace (BF) technology totaled 8,912,400 mt, declining by 1.9 percent year on year.
The FFA also noted that domestic crude steel production in the first 11 months of the year was 18.2 percent below the January-November 2007 production figures.
