In the second quarter of this year, France's gross domestic product (GDP) increased 0.2 percent compared to the previous quarter, according to the detailed statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the first quarter of this year, French GDP had increased by 0.2 percent on quarter-on-quarter basis.
During the second quarter, in France household consumption expenditure decreased by 0.1 percent quarter on quarter, following the growth of 0.2 percent quarter on quarter in the first quarter of the year. Meanwhile, in the given quarter, the value of France's imports increased by one percent quarter on quarter, after a 0.4 percent quarter-on-quarter decrease in the previous quarter, while the value of French exports rose 0.2 percent in the second quarter, after a 0.4 percent quarter-on-quarter contraction in the first quarter of this year.
In France, production of manufactured goods in the second quarter increased by 1.6 percent quarter on quarter. Construction output in France rose by 0.5 percent in the second quarter of this year, after a 0.1 percent increase recorded in the previous quarter, both quarter on quarter.
