French crude steel output drops 28.2 percent in 2009

France's crude steel production in 2009 amounted to 12,838,800 metric tons, decreasing by 28.2 percent, according to data released by the French Steel Federation.

Meanwhile, in December 2009 France's crude steel output totaled approximately 1.1 million metric tons, declining by 15.87 percent month on month, but up 71.54 percent compared to December 2008 when French steel output had reached its lowest point. December was the second consecutive month in which a decrease on month-on-month basis was registered.
