Freight volumes on China’s waterways up 4.22 percent in Jan-Nov

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has announced that that in November this year the overall freight volume transported on China’s waterways (rivers, lakes, seas) amounted to 570 million mt, up 5.55 percent year on year, while the freight traffic volume on the country’s waterways amounted to 817.8 billion mt-km,decreasing by 0.32 percent year on year.

In the January-November period of the current year, freight volumes on China’s waterways totaled 5.68 billion mt, up 4.22 percent, while the freight traffic volume amounted to 8.4114 trillion mt-km, increasing by 0.07 percent, both year on year.
