France's manufacturing output increased by one percent in December compared to November, according to the statistics released by National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the October-December quarter of last year, France’s manufacturing output was down by 1.5 percent year on year and declined by 0.4 percent quarter on quarter.
In December, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, was up by one percent compared to November, after a 2.4 percent decline month on month in October. In the October-December quarter, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 0.3 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in December production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry rose by 2.6 percent on month-on-month basis after a 3.3 percent month-on-month contraction recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry was up by 1.9 percent month on month in December after increasing by 1.3 percent in November compared to October. In the October-December quarter, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry declined by 0.3 percent and output of the domestic construction industry fell by 0.6 percent, both quarter on quarter.
